This is quite possibly the worst sports column I’ve ever read in my life. It’s by Bob “Keep Tryin’” Ryan of the Boston Globe. It goes nowhere! Newsflash, Bob: I really don’t care that you have a Giants wastebasket you’ve been meaning to get rid of!

So I tracked down J. Michael Neal’s blog with a little help from google. Believe it or not, he has a post singing the praises of Joe Posnanski.

I was about to sit down and write a post letting you in on who i think the best columnist in baseball is — Joe Posnanski, but then I noticed that the AP beat me to the punch.

it was just a couple weeks ago that the royals were massacred by the indians, with luke hudson giving up 11 runs in the first inning.

now they blow the win after scoring 10 runs in the first, setting a club record for biggest lead ever given up and becoming only the second team ever to lose after scoring double digits in the first inning. and against what team but the indians! when i saw they were up 10-1, I thought “sweet vengeance!” but now i think i’m gonna be sick. I have to go back and listen to how commentator denny matthews was able to eek out the final innings of calling this one. the man has the patience of job — this is his 40th year spent wandering in the kansas city desert…

Not that it was always a desert, but the river of milk and honey dried up long ago.
